In between speakers, we’ll have UNconference sessions that will work like this:

  •  A sign up sheet will be at the conference with a number of slots for topics for each of the UNconference sessions
  •  You can suggest any topic that you’d like to talk or learn about.
  •  We’re not looking for presentations and it’s a sales pitch free zone.
  •  Participants get to decide which session interests them.
  •  Not the right fit? Use the law of two feet to pick a different one.

Shaminda (Shum) Attygalle

Hey there! I’m Shum (my full name is Shaminda, but most times I go by Shum). I am an emerging digital marketer (but really, who isn’t these days?) and I am the host of a podcast called The Digital Marketing Lounge. I started the podcast because I have been fascinated by the world of digital marketing, ever since graduating from the Business program at Laurier.

In order for you to get to know me better, let me tell you the kinds of questions I’m asking myself as a marketer these days: When will we start using Facebook to shop for groceries? When will we stop carrying wallets? When will the majority of Canada cut the cord?

I'm passionate about marketing and love learning new things. If you are in any way intrigued by the questions I asked before or would just like to chat about digital marketing, please feel free to say hello! It would be my pleasure to meet you.

Social Media Breakfast: Waterloo Region

We are the Social Media Breakfast for Waterloo Region in Ontario. We mainly serve Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and the surrounding townships but no matter where you live if you can make it to one of our sessions, we'd love to see you.

We are committed to presenting sessions that can benefit everyone from those testing the social media water to those who are fully immersed. Each session offers information that is valuable for people and organizations using social media while offering plenty of chances to share tips, tricks and expertise with others. We have a variety of formats from speakers to panels to small group discussions. Each event also offers opportunities for networking.

By its very nature nobody knows everything that there is to know about social media due to the sheer vastness of what is out there and its ever-changing nature, so in short, everyone has something to learn and something to share.
